Monitoring mon.eosc.sk

The pilot MVP availability monitoring of the node: what is monitored, which statuses exist and how availability and reliability are computed.

The monitoring service at mon.eosc.sk continuously checks whether the components of EOSC Node Slovakia and the services exposed through the node are reachable and healthy. It is operated as a pilot MVP.

What is monitored

The public dashboard lists every monitored service with its current status, availability, reliability, response time, HTTP status and last check. Currently monitored:

  • Landing page eosc.sk
  • Service catalogue and the production services registered in it (Genome of Slovakia, SK CRIS)
  • Helpdesk (Zammad), knowledge base, FitSM tool
  • AAI (Keycloak)
  • SVD research data repository (KOMIS)

How it works

A collector runs active black-box probes (HTTP, JSON content, TCP) against every service at a defined interval, retries on failure and stores the evidence. From these checks it derives, per service and for the whole node:

Status
OK, WARNING, CRITICAL, DOWNTIME (scheduled), UNKNOWN, MISSING.
Availability
Share of time the service was up, excluding scheduled downtime – following the ARGO conventions used in EOSC.
Reliability
Availability that additionally excludes unknown periods.

Metrics are available for periods from 1 hour to 365 days; times in the web interface are shown in Europe/Bratislava, the API always returns UTC.

The landing page eosc.sk shows the live node status and the number of services in OK state from this monitoring.
